Another round of Holiday Wear inspiration! Got an office party coming up? Here’s some outfit inspiration. I thought I’d do an outfit per office dress code. I work in a business professional environment, but I know others are luckier than me! Some days I dream of coming to work in something more casual and I live for our jeans days, even though I still have to pair it with something business casual.
What will you be wearing? Any recipes you have on hand for holiday potlucks?
With the passing of Thanksgiving, the Holiday season has officially arrived! Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll have a couple of what to wear features for the different types of events you might be attending.
I have a company holiday party coming up, so I thought I’d kick the series off with outfit options for a Holiday Cocktail party.
My personal favorite? Outfit # 3. The Tibi Natalia dress has been on my radar for quite some time now. Check out the full details of the dress to understand why. The plunging back is gor-geous.
The weather’s getting cooler and all I want to do is put on some sweats, sit on my couch, and never leave it’s side until Spring arrives! But alas, those dreams can only be dreams As the weather gets colder, I find myself wearing my more of my pants and neglecting my skirts. So I put together some inspiration to help you bump those skirts to the front of your closet through fall.

Mini skirts – just about the easiest skirts to transition to fall and winter. Just add a pair of fun tights are you’re good to go. I love how these ladies pair their minis with fun prints and colors. To some people (I’m one of them), winter wear = colorless outfits but why?

Midi Skirts – A little trickier to style in my opinion, but all the more fun to wear! Full midi skirts instantaneously makes an outfit feel more girly and flirty. For a fun night out, try a midi skirt. It’ll add that extra oomph you need to differentiate a day outfit from night.

Maxi skirts – One of my favorite looks right now is the maxi/sweater look. You can layer as much as you want to, but still get the flowly and carefree feel of a maxi skirt.
Happy Thursday everyone! Now that Hurricane Sandy is past us, time to return to regular programming.

A new feature to Simply Epalf! The man friend was shopping around for converses a couple of weeks ago and the idea came to me – his hers posts! I’ve always been intrigued by menswear. I think it’s because one of my favorite pastimes is dressing him up. Look out for more of these posts!
Here are some of my favorite converses…
Converses are the best shoes for casual, dressed down wear. For the ladies, pair them with skinny jeans and a casual top for everyday wear. For the fellas, you guys can wear them with anything basically. I really like the look of wearing them with slacks for a dapper dressed down look.

Color Theory post part 2. I’ve been seeing a lot of emerald lately and it’s such a great color for fall. Emerald can be paired with a wide variety of royal or neutral colors. My next color combo to try – emerald and royal blue.

I picked up this peter pan collar sweater from J.Crew yesterday on major sale! I’ve been wanting a blouse like this and it was fate that I stumbled upon this gem in the sale section.
Let me tell you one thing – At times, I’m not a very good/stategic shopper. I go for items I like, without even thinking about if it’ll fit with any of my other peices. So, I put together some looks that I’ll be trying to re-incarnate with my new buy.
From my research, here are some tips on nailing down the Peter Pan look.
- Because of the collar, try to minimize your use of accessories. I think a necklace would conflict and take away from the collar, so if anything go for simple earrings and lots of arm candy!
- This type of collar is paired well with a simple bottom. The peter pan collar was typically used for school girl uniforms back in the day, so the look is should be on the simpler (but fabulous) side.
- This type of blouse can be worn for work and for play! For work, pair it with a sleek pencil skirt and for play, pair it with a fun skirt or boyfriend jeans.
Happy happy weekend. TGIF!
