Another round of Holiday Wear inspiration! Got an office party coming up? Here’s some outfit inspiration. I thought I’d do an outfit per office dress code. I work in a business professional environment, but I know others are luckier than me! Some days I dream of coming to work in something more casual and I live for our jeans days, even though I still have to pair it with something business casual.
What will you be wearing? Any recipes you have on hand for holiday potlucks?

I’ll keep it short and sweet today. Just a simple black and blue outfit for a day in the office. I officially retired my Longchamp work tote last week and got this Steve Madden tote as a replacement. I’ve been working long nights as of late, so this bag was perfect for bringing my laptop home and keeping everything organized with all of the different pockets!
Happy Hump Day!

My version of business casual wear for the office. The weather has finally cooled down, thank goodness! With the weather back to normal, I went with a cool and natural toned outfit. It’s finally feasible to start layering again!
Happy first official day of summer!
Getting dressed for work is no easy task, especially in this warm weather. As someone who commutes via public transportation (yay DC metro system), I always struggle with putting together an outfit that is both commuter and work friendly.
Here are some ideas and tips on how to stay cool this summer…

From Left to Right [Dress: Dorothy Perkins, Peplum Top: Topshop, Belt: ASOS, Silk Blouse: Aubin & Wills, Skirt: DKNY, Dress: Topshop]
- Layer, layer, layer – Yes, it may be 99 degrees outside but that’s usually not the case in your office right? Wear something that’s appropriate for your commute (i.e. sleeveless top) and bring along a cardigan/blazer to put on as you get into the office.
- Lay off the cotton – Cotton button downs are the absolute worst to wear when it’s blazing hot outside. Invest in more silk blouses. They’ll keep you cooler and will make your outfit look more polished.
- Dress it up – Simple and polished summer dresses are the easiest to throw on. They’re also a perfect outfit for those after work happy hours. I just throw one on in the morning and add a colorful cardigan. Cardigans are a working girls best friend, right?
- Color – Don’t be afraid to add some color to your workwear outfits. As long as the fit and look of your outfit is professional, you can go color crazy (well to a certain extent). You don’t want to be wearing all black when it’s scorching out anyways.
P.S. I kind of fell in love with Dorothy Perkins dresses as I was putting this post together. They have such a wide array of work appropriate yet stylish dresses. They’re also on the inexpensive side! Check them out here.
[Blouse: Anthropologie (similar), Skirt: H&M, Necklace: No brand (want), Heels: Manolo Blahnik, Bracelets: J.crew and H&M]
I’ve gone a little shoe crazy lately. I scored these Manolos at the Barneys sale and have been waiting for the perfect outfit to wear these and showcase them on the blog! My recent shoe buys were my 25th birthday present to myself and I got them all on sale! Nothing’s wrong with a bit of a splurge when they’re on sale right?
The weather is going to be a scorching 99-100 degrees in DC this week. I am dreading my morning commute tomorrow. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post! I’m trying to come up with easy, breezy outfit ideas/essentials for the summer we have ahead!
P.S. If you’ve been dying for a pair of Manolos but don’t want to shell out $$ for a pair, follow @BlahnikSales on twitter. They keep you updated on the latest Manolo sales.
[Top: H&M, Pants: H&M, Clutch: Madewell (similar), Necklace: Forever 21, Heels: Nine West (want)]
I’ve been having a little too much fun with print mixing lately. I spotted these pants at H&M and had to give them a try. From far away they seem like simple black pants, but up close there’s a hint of leopard print. I paired the outfit with simple accessories since the blouse and pant print mixture make enough of a statement.
Happy hump day folks!! The 3 day weekend is sooo close!

Just a quick outfit post today – bits and pieces of my work outfit! Snapped some shots before running off to an early AM meeting.
Happy happy almost Friday!! I’ve been living for the weekends lately, but then again what typical 9-5er doesn’t?
