Workwear Revival Step 4

Get Your Accessory On.

A blog post way overdue! Yes after a two week hiatus from the Workwear Revival series, the next installment is here.

As a girl who wore uniforms all throughout my younger years, I learned early on that the best way to spice up any outfit is through accessories. If your work attire is strictly limited to a skirt suit day in and day out, you must live through your accessories!!

[Nixon Kensington watch, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch (love the rose gold), ASOS patent color watch]

The Nixon Kensington watch has been my go-to watch lately. I love my Michael Kors chain link watch, but it tends to get a bit heavy when I’m sitting and typing at a computer all day. I highly recommend trying a leather strap watch! Vary it up and give your arm a rest every once in a while.

Look out for the last installment of the Workwear Revival Series. If you’re new to Simply Epalf, don’t forget to check out installments 1, 2, and 3!

CapFABB One Year Anniversary Recap

I had an awesome time last night at CapFABB’s 1 Year Anniversary event! Bloggers from the DC metropolitan area met up for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at Cities Restaurant. H.Bloom set up this gorgeous bud bar, where we could make our own flower headbands, corsages, barrettes, etc.

This was the second CapFABB event I’ve attended and the ladies of DC are downright fabulous. I had a great time and can’t wait to meet more bloggers at future CapFABB events!

Happy President’s Day and 3 day weekend for you lucky ones! I had a tourist day in DC this past weekend. I’ve been living in DC for so long that I sometimes forget how fun it is to act like a tourist for the day. With it being President’s Day weekend, I went on a walk around the National Mall and walked on over to the great landmarks of DC – Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, and the White House.

I had a fun and casual day roaming around DC and thought I’d make this outfit post a bit of a patriotic one.

Sunday Snapshots // Old and New

This past week I did some early spring cleaning and come across some old treasures! My best finds were the two rings in the instagram below. With the discovery of old favorites, I was gifted a new favorite – the dogeared infinity bracelet!

Also the weather was perfect in the DC area, so I did a tourist day in DC this past weekend. Took a walk around the monuments and even got the chance to see the MLK Memorial for the first time! Stay tuned for a patriotic President’s Day outfit post!

Happy Sunday!!

Spring Forward Inspiration

I’m done with this cold weather, spring needs to happen already! Even though Pantone declared Tangerine Tango as the “it” color for Spring 2012, I have a feeling you’ll be seeing me in a lot of green and blue. These ladies have been the inspiration for my Spring 2012 wardrobe choices.

Snapshot Sundays // MIA

Well this edition of Snapshot Sundays is a day late. I have been a bit MIA from twitter, tumblr, simplyepalf, et al as of late. I came down with a cold last week and no matter how many fluids I drink or how much sleep I get, I can’t seem to shake it!

I’ve spent my time indoors getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit. There’s just so many chick flicks on TV, how could I not right?

If you follow me on twitter, I posted a link to Kate Spade’s e-valentines. They’re uber cute and a great last minute card option.

Pink Pleated

Note to self: don’t wait till sunset to take pictures! Newbie mistake.

The weather was warm enough to go on a stroll through Old Town Alexandria after work the other day. So after work, I ditched the blazer and work heels and topped off my outfit with my favorite Zara vest! Also, there’s something about a pleated skirt that makes me wanting more! Maybe it’s the inner private school child in me.

New York Fashion Week has begun! Good luck to all my blogger friends who are already in NYC or trekking up there in the coming days!

Valentine’s Day is in a week! Do you have your plans and outfit ready? Had to celebrate V-day a bit early this year since it falls on a weekday next week, so I thought I’d share some simplyepalf, v-day love a bit early as well!

I’m absolutely in love with the Bando bow I recently bought. Since the shirt has a low cut back, I decided to add the bow as my one and only accessory. After a week long hiatus, definitely keep your eye out for more outfit posts!

Sunday Snapshots // Inner Foodie

This week has been a week filled with food! Hope you all are enjoying your Super Bowl Sunday – Patriots or Giants??

I had no outfit posts last week, but definitely keep your eye out for some in the next couple of days! Weather and timing was not my blogging friend last week.

Happy Sunday!! Back to the game! Eek.
